Cosmopolitan Bride "The Real Brides Annual" Sophia & Chad April 2014

Cosmopolitan Bride “The Real Weddings Annual”

April 2014 saw my gorgeous client & bride Sophia featured in Cosmopolitan Bride’s “The Real Weddings Annual”.  Her wedding was co-ordinated by Fiona from Couture Wedding Planning Australia.  Her wedding included heartfelt traditions & a reception that didn’t disappoint!

To achieve Sophia’s flawless look I used Makeup Forever HD Primer & Temptu Silicone Airbrush Foundation – tear & sweat resistant!  A touch of glamour was added to her eye makeup using ModelRock Lashes.

Here’s the excerpt from Cosmopolitan Bride, enjoy!

Smokey Eye How To: Step by Step!

  1. Prime the skin from the lash line to the eyebrow with Lime Crime Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer “Eyeshadow Helper”
  2. Apply a nude or skin tone eye shadow from the lash line to the eyebrow.  I’ve used Ben Nye “Shell” Eyeshadow
  3. Blend Gorgeous Cosmetics “Black Jack” Eye Pencil over entire mobile lid using a medium-sized eye shadow brush & blend edges
  4. Press Ben Nye “Graphite” Eye Shadow over mobile lid & blend into socket line
  5. Heavily line the upper & lower lash line with Gorgeous Cosmetics “Black Jack” Eye Pencil & blend with bullet brush
  6. Blend Ben Nye “Graphite” into eye pencil along lower lash line
  7. Blend out socket line & lower lash line using Ben Nye “Coco Brown” Eye Shadow
  8. Line the upper & lower lash line once more with Gorgeous Cosmetics “Black Jack” Eye Pencil
  9. Line top & bottom inner rims with Gorgeous Cosmetics “Black Jack” Eye Pencil
  10. Apply MAC “Nylon” Pressed Frost Shadow to the brow bone, focussing on the highest part of your arch
  11. Curl lashes & apply 2 coats, top & bottom of Gorgeous Cosmetics “Glamalash” Mascara
  12. Fill in brows with Gorgeous Cosmetics “Nouveaux” Eyebrow Pencil & add Ben Nye “Mink Stole” Eyeshadow for extra definition

Expert Tips:

  1. Do your eye makeup first then your base to prevent fallout ruining a flawless finish
  2. Add a pair of Model Rock Bar Lashes #244 for added glamour
  3. For a more dramatic look blend Ben Nye “Black” Eyeshadow onto mobile lid & into socket line
  4. Buff MAC Studio Fix Foundation into your skin using Rae Morris’ #27 Radiance Brush for an no-fuss airbrushed look!

Gaga Live at Sydney Monster Hall

Flashback Friday – Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball, Sydney

On July 13th 2011 I worked with a team of hair & makeup artists that styled the roving pre-show entertainment & flash-mob for Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball at Sydney’s Town Hall.   The event was presented by 2Day FM, Vodafone All-time Prepaid, Channel V & Take 40.  It was Gaga’s only Australian showcase for her Born This Way album.

In particular, I worked on both male & female models & dancers, creating edgy & eccentric looks.  The flash-mob makeup was headed by Martin Bray.  The roving models & flash-mob was successful in creating nation-wide media coverage & kept the loyal Gaga fans entertained as they waited to enter Sydney Monster Hall!

Our team was lucky enough to watch Gaga perform to her adoring little monsters.  She performed on a giant stage set in front of Sydney Town Hall’s impressive organ!
